COMPREHENSIVE EYE CARE
GRANDE PRAIRIE, ALBERTA
Our Story

A decade of local eye care, now with a home of our own.

Wise Eyes has been serving Grande Prairie families for years. After a decade of providing eye care in a larger retail setting, Dr. Anokhina and her team created a clinic of their own — a space designed around personal service, careful examinations and comfortable conversations about your vision.

We're proud to be a small, family-owned practice. That means we're able to get to know our patients, follow their vision over time and take the time to explain what we're seeing during an exam. Whether you're here for a routine checkup, new glasses, contact lenses or a concern about your eye health, our goal is the same: thoughtful care from people who know you.

From children seeing an optometrist for the first time to seniors managing changes in their vision, we believe every patient deserves clear answers and a comfortable experience.

Specialty Eye Care

More than seeing clearly.
It's about keeping eyes healthy.

Your eyes can change gradually, sometimes before you notice a difference in your vision. Regular eye examinations allow us to look beyond your prescription and assess the health of your eyes.

01 · MYOPIA MANAGEMENT

Myopia Control

Myopia, or nearsightedness, often begins during childhood and can progress as a child grows. Myopia control focuses on monitoring changes in prescription and eye growth and considering evidence-based strategies that may help slow progression.

We can discuss your child's visual habits, family history, outdoor time, prescription changes and available management options to determine what may be appropriate.

02 · OCULAR SURFACE HEALTH

Dry Eye Treatment

Burning, gritty eyes, fluctuating vision, redness, excessive tearing or discomfort can all be associated with dry eye. Dry eye is common and can have more than one contributing cause.

A dry-eye assessment looks at the health of the tear film and ocular surface. Depending on the findings, we can discuss practical changes, lubrication, lifestyle strategies and other appropriate treatment options.

03 · LIFELONG EYE HEALTH

Glaucoma Assessment

Glaucoma can develop gradually and may not cause noticeable symptoms in its early stages. During an eye examination, appropriate measurements and assessment of the optic nerve can help identify people who may need closer monitoring or further evaluation.

04 · RETINAL HEALTH

Diabetic Eye Care

Diabetes can affect the small blood vessels in the retina. Regular eye examinations are an important part of monitoring for diabetic eye changes and protecting vision over time.

If you have diabetes, ask us how frequently your eyes should be examined based on your individual health and eye findings.

Eye conditions vary from person to person. Examination findings, medical history and symptoms determine which tests, monitoring or treatment options are appropriate.
Know Your Eye Health

Common eye conditions
worth watching.

Many eye conditions can develop slowly. Understanding the signs and having regular eye examinations can help identify changes early and determine when additional care is needed.

👁

Glaucoma

A group of eye conditions that can damage the optic nerve. Risk increases with age and other factors, and early glaucoma may not cause obvious symptoms.

Cataracts

Clouding of the eye's natural lens can cause blurred vision, glare and difficulty seeing clearly, particularly at night.

Macular Changes

Conditions affecting the macula can affect central vision. Monitoring becomes increasingly important as we get older.

+

Diabetic Eye Disease

Diabetes can affect retinal blood vessels. Regular eye care helps monitor for changes that may threaten vision.

Dry Eye Disease

Insufficient or unstable tears can cause irritation, fluctuating vision and discomfort. Treatment depends on the underlying causes.

+

Eye Inflammation

Redness, light sensitivity, pain or changes in vision can have different causes and sometimes require prompt assessment.

For Growing Eyes

Helping children see clearly today — and protecting their vision for tomorrow.

More children are developing myopia, and prescriptions can change quickly during the school years. That's why monitoring your child's vision is about more than simply updating their glasses.

At Wise Eyes, we can monitor changes in your child's prescription and discuss whether myopia management may be appropriate. Depending on age, eye health and individual circumstances, options may include specialized spectacle or contact lenses, lifestyle recommendations and other evidence-based approaches.

  • Monitor prescription changes over time
  • Assess children's visual needs and habits
  • Discuss appropriate myopia-management options
  • Build a personalized follow-up plan
